  • Open Archives Day:
    Institutions open their doors on June 7, 8, 9 2014.
    All over the world, and for the second time in Lebanon, archivists join together on June 7, 8, 9 to allow the general public the chance to discover the unique heritage of these institutions. This year in Lebanon, 17 archival institutions open their doors to help us understand our past and present, offering guided tours and displaying samples from their collections.

Participating institutions: American University of Beirut, University Libraries, Archives and Special Collections Department; Arab Center for Architecture; Arab Image Foundation; Foundation for Arab Music Archiving & Research; Annahar Information Center; Bibliothèque Orientale – Université Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth; Daralhayat Information Center – Alhayat newspaper; Fondation Liban Cinéma; The Fouad Debbas Collection; Instituto Cervantes de Beirut; Institute for Palestine Studies; The Revival Project of the Lebanese National Library; L’Orient-Le Jour; Recto Verso Library; Solidere; Université Saint-Esprit de Kaslik, Conservation and Restoration Unit; UMAM Documentation & Research.This event is organized by the Modern Heritage Observatory (MoHO), a network of institutions and individuals from the Middle East and North Africa working for the preservation of the region’s modern cultural heritage. http://www.modernheritageobservatory.org/
