Construction projects at the Libraries: to better serve you

June 15, 2015

The University Libraries has initiated some necessary projects in its different branches to make your experience at the libraries better.

Below is a list of some of the work that is currently underway.

We will try our best to keep you updated on the progress of these projects and we thank you for your patience and understanding.

  1. The libraries are doing some Spring cleaning, and also most of Jafet Library’s reading rooms and offices are being/have been repainted, which obligated us to close some of them for a couple of days and reopen them shortly after.
  2. The computer lab on the ground floor in Jafet is being renovated and expanded. The lab will be refurbished with new computers and furniture. The project is planned to be completed by end of August, 2015. The results will be rewarding as students and visitors will benefit from a bigger, more comfortable and modern space to work in, as well as from new, advanced equipment.
  3. The Engineering and Architecture Library will temporarily move to the Raymond Ghosn Building. This will be the case until the new library is completed. This is a long-term project and patrons will therefore notice some work-in-progress going on throughout the year.
  4. The Saab Medical Library will undergo major renovation and refurbishment starting July. Upon completion, this project will provide patrons and visitors an enhanced modern space.

We look forward to the above projects’ completion, to serve you better and to make the best of our facilities.
