Young creative expressions from the Palestinian camps in Lebanon
Exhibition featuring the creative expressions of third generation Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, showcasing their experiences and wishes at three junctures of the community’s life in Lebanon.

Program includes presentations of AL-JANA’s active learning and creative expression program with marginalized children, followed by children’s films, in West Hall, Common Room:
Tuesday September 15, at 6:00 p.m.
Wednesday September 16, 12 p.m. until 2 p.m., and 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
The exhibit is co-organized by ARCPA / AL-JANA, the University Libraries, and the Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs.
Since 1998, ARCPA/ AL-JANA has been engaging with third generation Palestinian children born in exile in expressing their concerns & wishes, using the creative media of: photography, video, art & creative & journalistic writing.
The exhibit will feature the work resulting from three projects: “Wish I was a Bird” commemorating the 50th anniversary of Nakba, “Away from Home Again” chronicling the experience of displacement from Nahr al Bared, and “Inspirational Shatilla” commemorating the 30th anniversary of Nakba.
The Palestinian Oral History Archive seeks to digitize, index, catalog, preserve over 1,000 hours of testimonies with first generation Palestinians and other Palestinian communities in Lebanon, and provide access to the material through the creation of a state-of-the-art digital platform. The project is a partnership between the AUB Libraries, the Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs, the Nakba Archive and the Arab Resource Center for Popular Arts (AL-JANA).
The exhibit, presentations, and film screenings may be of interest to those involved in education, social work, refugee communities, public memory, and public arts.
